The name OHMG is more than just a label—it tells a story. ‘OH!’ captures that instant reaction of awe when someone sees our designs—bold, beautiful, and unexpected. ‘MG’ stands for Madhuri Gupta, grounding the brand in my personal journey, vision, and passion for experimental, handcrafted fashion. Together, OHMG is a statement—edgy yet elegant, playful yet purposeful. It’s not just a name. It’s an emotion, a vibe, a lifestyle.
I’ve always been drawn to creativity—whether it was recycling, sketching, or crafting something unique out of nothing. Even back in school, I thrived in co-curricular activities and had a natural flair for design. Deep down, I knew fashion was my true calling. But like many, I lacked the right guidance early on. I followed a conventional path, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and then a B.Ed in Science. I became a teacher—a respectable profession, yet something felt missing. The spark wasn’t there. Design was always in my heart. Eventually, I decided to take the leap—to rewrite my story and follow my passion. I took a bold step, left my stable job, and enrolled at NIFT Mumbai, one of India’s leading fashion institutes. There, I immersed myself in the world of design—exploring, learning, and finally aligning with the creative soul I always knew I was meant to be. That’s where my true journey began. After graduating from NIFT Mumbai, I stepped into the fashion industry—gaining invaluable experience, honing my skills, and understanding the pulse of design from the ground up. But deep inside, I carried a bigger dream—one that was entirely my own. After years of working in the industry, I finally found the courage to take the next leap: To create a brand where I could explore my creativity without limits, give life to my artistic vision, and stay true to my values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and originality. That dream became OHMG Atelier—a label born from passion, purpose, and the belief that fashion should be bold, conscious, and deeply personal.
